Band Bios

Kirk Jones Button Accordion, Triple Note Accordion, Fiddle, and Vocals Kirk took up the single row accordion in 2000 and has since picked up on triple note accordion, and most recently, fiddle. He has studied with Cory Ledet, Joe Hall, Jeffery Broussard, Dirk Powell, and Dexter Ardoin at the Augusta Music Heritage program in Elkins, Virginia and the Dewey Balfa camp in Louisiana. His heros include Boozoo Chavis, John Delafose, the Balfa Brothers, Octa Clark, and Canray Fontenot. In his spare time, he is a bee master at Sleeping Bear Farms.

Mark Stoltz Rubboard and Cajun/Zydeco Dance Instructor Enthusiasm is Mark's greatest assest. He has traveled the country ceaselessly in search of good Louisiana dance music. He has studied for quite a few years with Mona Wilson, among others, and now teaches dance at our gigs and plays rubboard. He is fondly known in these parts as "big dog".

Jonah Powell ... Fiddle and backup vocals

Jonah has studied violin since he could walk. Word has it he was born with a bow in his hand. He plays in a variety of styles including bluegrass and rock.

 

 

Jamie Bernard....Drums

Jamie is not only a great drummer , but is a full time artist. He has his art displayed in pretigious studios and he lives in Onekama, Michigan. When he is not doing art or music, he make a very popular hot sauce which goes by the moniker, "Hot Thauce"

Rex Alexander.......Guitar


Rex not only plays a fine guitar, but also can play a pretty mean banjo. When he is not jammin', he stays busy making custom cabinets and other pieces of fine woodworking. He has also written pieces for Fine Woodworking, a top shelf magazine.
